Awesome Covers: She-Hulks #2

She-Hulk and She-Hulk battling super powered apes? Why haven't you bought this yet!?

But seriously, this cover is great, depicting both She-Hulks locked in combat with Red Ghost's 'Super Apes' as he watches on menacingly. That concept alone sounds more like it belongs in the Silver Age. And I LOVE IT! This is my favorite kind of cover, one that evokes exactly what people expect in a comic.

As for the story inside? I am loving this series. The artwork is fantastic, the characters are fun and despite basically calling him out as a lame villain, they actually make The Wizard seem pretty damn awesome; he actually manages to blackmail THE HULK!

By what I've seen, we can expect more Awesome Covers from the Hulk Girls.

...Oh, you probably want to know why there is two of them.

Well, one is Jeniffer Walters, cousin of the Incredible Hulk who is also a lawyer. The younger one with red hair is Lyra, a girl from the future who was grown with Hulk DNA. They fight crime.

Awesome Covers: Lady Deadpool.

Technically this cover is nothing special, but I can't help but like it. It's very well drawn, and depicts the alternate universe counter part to one of my favorite superheroes of all time, Deadpool. She's happily munching away on some pizza while dead bodies are strewn around her in all directions. That is awesome. For this I have to say simplicity is what makes the cover, and it makes it awesome. Besides, Lady Deadpool also opens up the oppertunity for fanservice. Admittedly she is horrifically scarred and zombie-like, but usually the artist is nice enough to reduce it to some cuts.

However this all comes at a price. Covers are there to grab you and drag you in so that you will buy the book. In this case, that is a mistake. I actually felt like I wasted my time reading it. The only reason to buy it is if your a hardcore Pool'Fan.

Sideburns Speculates: Batman in Marvel.

Welcome to yet another new segment. But good news, this one has to do with comics, and won't make sense to anyone unfamiliar with them. Today we speculate Batman in the universe of Marvel.

As stupid as my ignorant peers are, their stupidity isn't enough to make Batman an occupant of the Marvel Universe. Not that he hasn't seen it, there has been a number of crossovers throughout time, but he does not live there.

But lets say he was aware of it's existance. It is indeed a Crapsack World, and Batman cannot let that pass. Admittedly he cannot bring world peace or cure disease or World Hunger, but he will not let crime go unpunished. So, lets imagine that he gained a 'window' of sorts to the Marvel Universe. He discovers the horrible crimes commited by many and decides he must help. He upgrades the window to send him to the universe. The process is not perfect and changes him completley, granting him an actual set of abilities and numerous changes to his body. Being Batman, he does not mind and has his mind on the goal of crime fighting. The process between worlds is long, so he has plenty of time to study the villainous figures he has seen in the window. Being aware of the intelligence on the other side, he plans to use he changes to his body to disguise himself so that they will not only beunable to recognise him in the event that they have a time, window, but never even suspect it. Once on the other side he sets into his plans into motion after crafting his new persona:
